Looking For Adventure?
Try This Itinerary ...

Are you looking for adventure in Singapore? Well, you've come to the right place!

What I'm going to do in this article is to give you an itinerary that gives you some excitement in our concrete jungle.

Contrary to popular belief, Singapore is not a city of just skyscrapers and boring urban life. You'll find some interesting adventures here, but you need to know where to look ...

1. An Adventurous Itinerary

Let's talk about what we can do in Singapore for an adventurous itinerary. Of course, before embarking on any adventure, arm yourself with the right equipment - such as an umbrella, plenty of water and a trusty digital camera. Ready? Let's set off!

2. Underwater World

One of the first places I'd recommend is Underwater World at Sentosa. Containing over 2500 marine creatures, this place is contains one of the world's largest display of sand tiger sharks. After you complete the Underwater World tour, you can try staying on to tour Sentosa, or you can come back to the mainland.

3. Holland Village

On the mainland, you may want to check out lunch at Holland Village. Why Holland Village? Well, this little hub is popular with expatriates and is an haven of small curio shops and restaurants. You can find tons of Asian arts and crafts at the Holland Village Shopping Centre too.

4. Jurong BirdPark

Right, with our stomachs filled, we can now go on to visit the next stop - Jurong BirdPark. If you like birds, this is indeed the place to be in Singapore. Learn to be a falconer, or even try handling birds of prey. Never mind that you're not royalty, you can try out falconry for a day here!

5. Bugis Street

If you're raring to get some shopping done, then you should try Bugis Street, which is one of Singapore's biggest street bazaars. Besides unexpected bargains, you can also find interesting sights like the co-existence of a You will pass by Buddhist, Indian temples while you shop and discover interesting bargains.

You can also stop by Bugis Junction, an interesting shopping mall featuring a glass-covered shopping walkway. The architecture in Bugis Junction is also worth mentioning - it is built on a 'shophouse' concept, reflective of our nation's rich history.

6. Clarke Quay
Want more adventure? Sure. Let's go down to Clarke Quay and check this out - the Reverse Bungy Jump. You will fly at great speeds and feel that heart of yours drop as you're flung up and down. Not recommended for the faint-of-heart.

7. Magical Makansutra Food Safari
Ok, by now, you should be hungry (especially after that bungy jump). Check out the the Magical Makansutra Food Safari - an interesting event where you can try out some of Singapore's local dishes. Depending on which 'safari' you go on (each lasts about three hours), you can try unique dishes like Bak Kut Teh (pork ribs in tea soup), Roti Prata (Indian bread with curry) and Laksa (noodles in a coconut broth). Wow, just thinking of them makes my mouth water.

8. Kampong Glam

The final stop in our little adventure tour would be the historic Kampong Glam area. Here, you can listen to spooky supernatural stories of the Old Istana, Sultan Mosque and the royal graveyard. If you've always been interested in Malay folklore, this is one area worth visiting - never mind the haunting stories and such.

Conclusion

Who says there's no adventure in Singapore? Try the above itinerary out and you will discover some unique gems not seen before in our little city state. Let me know how it goes, I'd be glad to listen to your stories.
