How to Spend 48 Hours
in Singapore

Have you just arrived in Singapore? Don’t have much time here? Let’s assume you only have 48 hours on the island.

Well, what do you do? What are the places to visit? There are, quite frankly, too many things to do on the island within 48 hours.

What I've done is to write a little article that gives you a sample itinerary to get you started.

Follow this itinerary and before you know it, you'll have covered some of the most interesting places on the island - and definitely maximizing your time here.

Touch Down

You arrive in Changi Airport on (say) the morning of Day 1. Get through to the immigration counters and pick up a brochure about Singapore.

Check In

You need a place to stay for the night – one good option is the Changi Airport hotel. If you want cheap, check out Hotel 81 in Chinatown.

Take A Ride

Next, armed with you boarding pass (if you flew by Singapore Airlines) – hop on to the SIA Hop-on Bus – it is totally free. And it takes you to Orchard Road, Bugis Junction, Suntec City, the Colonial District, Clarke Quay, Boat Quay, Chinatown and the Singapore Botanic Gardens!

What a lot of places! If you didn’t fly by Singapore Airlines, then simply pay $8 – which is a steal anyway.

A Quick Lunch

Grab a bite at the local hawker centre or foodcourt. There are tons of these places around – you can’t miss them.

Window Shopping

Head down to Orchard Road and shop yourself crazy at Takashimaya and The Paragon – the two hottest shopping malls in Singapore.

Cultural Afternoon

Go to Indochine Waterfront at 1 Empress Place for a happening dinner. This stylish fusion restaurant is quite expensive but worth the view and ambience. After dinner, go back to the hotel and rest.

Out to Breakfast

Day 2: We go out for breakfast at a local coffeeshop, at the hotel or even the nearest McDonald’s.

Singapore Botanic Gardens

Visit this spectacular garden that is the pride of Singapore.

You simply must view the lush greenery and talk a slow walk through the magnificent flora.

Mount Faber

Next, if you still have time, head up to Mount Faber to catch a view of Singapore from a high vantage point.

Conclusion

Next, head back to the hotel, check out and go to the airport to fly home. All in all, you took 48 hours and packed in a whole bunch of wonderful activities! Not bad for such a short timeframe. Happy travels!
