in Singapore

As you might already know, Singapore is amongst the most developed and prosperous countries in the world.

If you're looking to come to Singapore to live the 'high life' - you will actually be spoilt for choice. Besides having some of the best hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs and arts scene this side of the world, Singapore is also a very safe, clean and amazingly convenient city to live in.

So while you're here, do live it up and get a taste of Singaporean lifestyle ...

What are some of the things you can do to 'livie it up' in Singapore? Well there are too many things to do! Some of these are shown below.

1. Sentosa Attractions

There are many places to visit and enjoy in Singapore. Great beaches, where you can enjoy the marine life and spotless beaches with white sunkissed sand. You can go scuba diving and explore the untouched beauty of a paradise that awaits you.

There are many great diving opportunities in the near vicinity of Singapore for long weekends or short breaks. West / South West of Sentosa Island are arguably the best place for beginners. Sentosa Island is visited by over 2 million people every year.

There is an Underwater World which houses a large aquarium featuring a long walk-through tank where you can experience sharks and rays swimming right over your head. Getting admission into the Underwater World gives you access to the Dolphin Lagoon, where trained pink Dolphins put together an acrobatic show.

2. Dragon Boat Racing

The dragon boat racing is a star attraction in the Singapore Calendar. The Dragon boat is similar to an ‘open Kayak’ boat. At the front end of the boat sits a traditional dragon faced head. The competition is an open one and is fiercely fought race. There are several local teams, clubs and even some corporate companies that field their teams in the race.

It’s a great spectacle to watch from the sidelines to the river where the race is organized. It is a period for rowing competitions marked by the eating of rice dumpling called "Ma Chang". A drummer also sits within the boat and plays the drum continuously during the course of the race. This is mainly done to push the rowers to perform at their best; the drummer performs like a cheer leader.

3. Golf

Singapore might be a small city state. But the enthusiasm for all forms of sports and activities is tremendous. There are many golf courses in main Singapore itself. Most of the best and affluent hotels and resorts have either full size or mini size golf courses. There are also some golf venues that are open to the common public.

Golf is today one of the most followed sports in the world. The greens and lush gardens give us a feeling of complete relaxation. The Golf courses today have well maintained bars, swimming pools and hi-tech gyms.

Singapore plays host to tournaments from the Asian PGA tour as well as hosts the Singapore Masters which a tour event co-sanctioned by the European and Asian tours. All the leading players from Asia come to Singapore to participate in the tournaments and is therefore a leading sporting attraction in Singapore.

Conclusion

Singapore is, by just about any measure, a highly "successful" country. Its citizens enjoy a standard of living that is at or near the top of Asia. The way of life here is competitive, but as you can see, there are enough things to do that can make life in Singapore joyful. Go no, live it up!
