1. Mohammed Sultan RoadThis place used to be the hub of all happening nightspots in Singapore. These days, the expatriates and hippies have moved to the three quays (see below) for partying action. That is not to say that the Mohammed Sultan Road (near River Valley Road) is not happening. You can certainly check it out to see various bars and pubs which are quite in vogue.2. The Three QuaysThe Three Quays? What the heck is that, you ask? Well, it refers to Boat Quay, Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay. In Singapore, these three quays form a loop around the Singapore River and they are packed with nightspots.
A typical day time
scene in Boat Quay
The most happening order of the day is Clarke Quay
and coming in second, Boat Quay. Robertson Quay is more serene area which you
may want to visit after ‘pub crawling’ through the other two areas.
3. CHIJMES and nearbyLook up any Singapore map and you’ll see a reference to CHIMES, which is essentially a nightspot area formed around a church. A favorite amongst expatriates for its nice locale, you can typically have a nice dinner in one of the restaurants before going on to party the night away.4. ChinatownChinatown may appear quite seedy to some – and indeed it is so. Here you will find all manner of bars and nightspots which are cheaper than the other places in this list. Watch for the KTV bars which dot the landscape – they are full of neon signs inviting you to go in and sing a tune or two.5. Orchard RoadOrchard Road also has its share of nightspots – the most prominent ones near Delfi Orchard. Those with families – be warned – there are typically many hookers in the Delfi Orchard area. If you’re uncomfortable with such scenes, make way further down Orchard Road to other nightspots.ConclusionHopefully, this article has given you some insight into what the nightspot scene is like in Singapore. The next time you want to have dinner and dance the night away, come back to this list for some guidance.
